Every Amrita endeavor has been blessed by Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, popularly called as Amma, she is internationally recognized as one of the foremost leaders of humanity today. Amma's entire life is an incomparable example of the nature of selfless, unconditional love. Her spiritual charisma, innocence and charm are all unmistakably unique.
She is the recipient of the prestigious UN Gandhi-King Peace Award in 2002 at Geneva, for her contribution for world peace and non-violence.
Having undergone or displayed rigorous spiritual discipline, she then embraced the entire world with love and compassion. Through Her extraordinary acts of love and self sacrifice, Amma has endeared Herself to millions. She devotes every moment of Her life to alleviate the pain and suffering of the humanity.
Amma says, "My sole mission is to love and serve one and all. Amma's only wish is that Her hands should always be on someone's shoulder, consoling and caressing them and wiping their tears, even while breathing her last." This goal lies in the heart of all her institutions.
The greatest miracle that takes place in her presence occurs in the hearts of those who come to her-the gentle, gradual awakening of love, compassion and selflessness, an awakening of one's own inherent divinity. Her embraces have brought solace and transformation to millions of people around the globe, helping them to lead a life of peace, tranquility and purpose.
Through the example of her life of tireless service to humanity, Amma inspires her children to walk towards the goal of self-realization by serving the poor and the needy. Her actions has inspired many humanitarian activities all over the world, shedding light of hope to poor and deprived.
